The Environmental Education Association of South Carolina held their annual conference June 9-11 in beautiful Beaufort, South Carolina. The conference facilitates training and networking opportunities for formal and informal educators in South Carolina. The workshop kicked-off with a Project Learning Tree workshop, Focus on Forestry, which is designed for educators who work with grades 9-12. There were eco-tours by boat and trailer that explored Spring Island and the surrounding waters. Participants also watched presentations from other environmental educators from across the state and learned about educational programs available to educators in South Carolina. District manager, Lauren Burroughs, attended the conference and had this to say about it, "This has been the most useful, beneficial, and fun environmental education conference I have attended. I will definitely be attending every year from here on out!"
